Trampoline Time

Here's a photo of Little Miss; I don't think I've shared one with you in a while. Just to see how big she's grown, here's a photo of her as a newborn, and one of her at 8 months. She is now just about 22 months and I treasure every minute I spend with this sweet girl. Here she is enjoying a trampoline in the backyard of some friends of ours. They live in the country just across the Washington border in Oregon and have a fantastic view of fields (mostly theirs because they own 20 acres), the hills, and both sunsets and sunrises. They own goats, cows, sheep, chickens, dogs and cats.

The Red Shoe

This shoe belongs to the 18-month-old daughter of a friend of mine. I thought it looked neat sitting the grass without its match, silent in the evening spring light.

Discovering Spring

In honor of May Day I share with you a shot of my Little Miss checking out the daffodils outside our house. She absolutely loves flowers, and has to point them out whenever she sees any. (It comes out more like, "wa-wee" but we know it's "flowers.") If she can, she'll walk over and "smell" them, which is actually her putting her nose down by the petals and blowing out of her nose instead of sniffing, but she will figure it out eventually. the hat she's wearing was an Easter gift from her auntie.

Long-Awaited Little Miss

I'm back! It's been six weeks since I last posted, and at that time I was in the hospital having my darling little girl. I was induced at 6 a.m. and at 9:16 p.m. on July 29, my Little Miss entered the world. It was a pretty straight-forward delivery, though her body temperature was a little low, so they had me hold her skin-to-skin and draped two heated blankets around us. By the following morning she was doing just fine, and was feeding well, too. This picture was taken the day after we brought her home from the hospital. She was so peaceful, napping next to me on the couch. So here is your first introduction to...Kayla Sue.

Pony Rides

I'm not sure what these kids were celebrating, but it looked a little bit like a birthday party gathering complete with pony rides. I spotted this cheerful little crowd while running errands for work last week. Even the pony seemed to be enjoying himself. I'm not sure who the guest of honour was, or if there even was one, but everyone seemed to be smiling and having a good time whatever the occasion. (Who doesn't love a pony ride?!?)
