A Portrait

On Easter Sunday my family and I spent time with some friends and had Easter dinner and an Easter egg hunt (for the kids). Their beautiful dog, Zoe, watched as the kids ran around the yard hunting for brightly coloured eggs. I just had to snap a photo. She is (I believe) a Welsh Corgi Cockapoo.

Blues & White

This was my view of the Blue Mountains one morning last week while on my way to work. This is one of those instances when a photograph just doesn't do justice to the beauty of a scene.

Little Lady

These are about the only kind of bugs I don't mind. Here in the Pacific Northwest we call them Ladybugs. What do you call them where you live?

More Tulips

Yesterday I showed you a full bank of beautiful tulips. These are my two favourites: the blushing yellows and sharp deep purples. Spring is such a lovely time of year in the Pacific Northwest.

April Showers

Spring blooms are in all their glory in the WW valley right now. I love the vibrant colours around houses, banks, libraries, schools, and everywhere else. I can't wait for the Dogwood trees to bloom, but for right now, these tulips make me smile every time I see them. Aren't they gorgeous?

I'm Back!

After over four months of not posting at all, I've been inspired to pick it up again. I was lucky enough to meet a fellow CDP poster, my friend from Versailles Daily Photo, this morning. We met over coffee as she was in town visiting friends. It was a wonderful experience and I hope to return the favour sometime in the near future and visit her hometown in France. My visit with her inspired me to pick this blog up again, so here we are. This is not what we enjoyed today, but next time she comes to town I think we shall experience the Patisserie...and she can tell me how close their pastries are to true French patisserie goodies. This is gelato (not French, I know) and spiced cider I enjoyed about a month ago at the Colville St. Patisserie in Walla Walla. Thank you, VDP, for getting me back on the bandwagon!

Jacobi's

This is a downtown restaurant that used to be a train station. When I first came to town for college in 2001, the restaurant was called Jacobi's. About two years ago the owner sold it and it was renamed "The Depot Grill," which in my opinion is a much worse name, but no one cares what I think! Recently it was resold to the original owner, I believe, and it is now Jacobi's again, from what I can tell. However the building still says otherwise, so I'm not exactly sure! This restaurant is an American grill, but they also make pasta. I've only eaten here once, because they don't have a whole lot for vegetarians.
