This is one of my favourites from this season so far. I don't know what kind of tree this is; it's in our neighbour's house and is actually the same tree I posted a photo of earlier this week - the gorgeous orange/yellow tree. Anyone recognize this fruit? It looks like an upside-down apple to me, but I know it's not an apple tree.

I think it might be a quince. Have never eaten one but I seem to recall the look of one. Nice yellows :)
Can't tell for sure but I'm guessing it is some kind of nut based on the leaf stem which is typical of nut trees. The leaf structure isn't from a quince or Asian pear. Check out the fruit, if it has a husk and has a distinct order it is a nut.
